Editor of Complete Kit Car, raced 3 seasons in the Tiger Race Series in a Pinto powered Tiger Avon, Winning the class each year. Looks forward to mixing it up in the new class for 2008 season.

Chris Brooks Car: R6 Class: B

I am 54 married with four mostly grown up children, live in Welshpool Mid Wales. I am a partner in a bespoke kitchen business - we manufacture top class kitchens and supply and fit them anywhere we are asked!! - from Welshpool to Barbados!! Met Jim at Stafford kit car show in 2004, tested an R6 at Bruntingthorpe and started building in late 2004. Racing career started very late - 2005 was my first season. Slow and steady but enjoy every minute! Looking forward to 2008 season with my third R6 possibly on the horizon.

Chris gray age 46, married 3 nearly grown up children. Biggest stove and fireplace dealer in south of england, hoping to turn my hand to motorsport. I finished building my Super six in may 2007, with the intention of using it as a roadcar, but was attracted by prospect of trophies and prize money. with my super light 1974 cortina back axel and 1984 golf mach1 brakes, i expect to finish in the top 33. i would like to wish all my competitors luck racing against my non-race spec super 6. However i have removed to passenger seat and had a haircut to save weight!!

1980 - 1984 Moto-X 250 & 500 Club & National Championship -1985 - 1987 -Moto-X 250 Army Team & REME display team -1998 - 1999 - Formula Ford, Silverstone Challenge Championship Winner -2005 Tiger Racing Series, Standard Class Runner-Up - 2006 -Tiger Racing Series, Standard Class Winner -2008 will be entering Open class and looking to build on previous success with an up-rated car.

Colin McLaughlan Car: Avon Class: B

Colin has worked for Tiger for 8 years and is a permanent member of the team, works alongside Paul Dudley on every aspect of the building of Tiger or ERA, Colin has no experiance of racing and will be using his first season to learn the circuits ect.

David Davies Car: Avon Class: A

VX Racing = Dave is the work horse of VXS Racing, no bolt is tight enough for Dave, his railway experience allows him to use his torque calibrated forearm for most tasks. Dave came 3rd in the now defunct 8 valve class last season and has glassware to prove it. Dave also holds the record for the most spectacular crashes within the team, Airborne at Anglesey and Armco bound at Lydden!

Gary Davison
Gary Davison Car: R6 Class: A

Safety training officer for offshore drilling company. Started racing motorcycles in the late 70’s and 80’s production bikes before moving onto Formula TT class & then open class with 125cc Honda & 250cc Yamaha. Got his race licence in may 2007 and had his first race in his Tiger R6 at Silverstone Stowe. This year in the Tiger Race series he has managed to get 2 fastest laps in the standard class and 2 race wins in the standard class. I will never be able to win the championship due to my work overseas but just enjoy a good day out with all the other people involved in the racing series.

Gary Lapinskis
Gary Lapinskis Car: R6 Class: A

Started racing in 1992 racing Honda C70 go karts, then progressed to 125gp Rotax in a spyder chassis. Changed to Honda pro karts, most success was a 2nd place in the ancaster sprint series championship. Accumulated 73 podium finishes with success at PF1 Int, Stribby, Ancaster, Rye House, BuckmorePark, Kilcornan in Limerick.

James Castro
James Castro Car: Avon Class: B

Technical Producer for a World Wide Design Agency, First race was in 2005 at Silverstone Stowe after converting his road going Tiger Cat to a race car. Then in 2007 built a purpose built Pinto powered Tiger Avon to race finishing 2nd in class. Looking forward to racing a complete season in 2008.

Mac Macarthy
Mac Macarthy Car: Avon Class: A

VX Racing = Mac is the general dogsbody and his motto is “lets give it a go” he was undeniably responsible for the VXS sojourn into the world of unreliable hybrid engines. Mac has 4 years rallying experience and has on more than one occasion had to stop himself fitting Colway remoulds and a 2” lift kit to the VXS Avon.

Mark Steward
Mark Steward Car: RS6 Class: C

Estate Agent, started racing tractors at the age of 14 then moved on to grass track racing destroying various family cars, moved on to cars in his later teens, no real success as he ran out of money. Raced a variety of tin tops in one offs drives and invitations. In 2004 raced Radicals for Martin Donnelly and in 2005 raced historic/heritage jaguar XJS. Started racing Tigers in 2006 in the standard class then in 2007 moved on to the Open class in the Duratec. Looking forward to the 2008 in the new RS6.

Mick Grant
Mick Grant Car: R6 Class: A

born 1968, male, married, 3 beautiful girls, 2 smelly dogs ! drainage engineer, live in Watford, work mostly in London. I have owned 2 Tigers, a zetec super six and currently a zetec R6. My R6 was built by the factory purposely for racing in but it is also road legal. 1st 3 years were with a standard 2 litre engine, LSD and straight cut gearbox.Now looking at doing engine mods for the coming years. My first experience of racing was with Tiger, my rooky year was 2005 and have competed in every year so far. If I was Prime Minister I would shut that fecking tunnel, teach people how to drive on a motorway, ban sandals being worn with socks and everyone called Mick Grant would get a free Lamborghini.

Michael is married with two kids and works as a marine insurance broker in London. 2008 will be Michael's rookie season having built an Avon specifically for the series. Previousy as an owner of a SuperCat he spectated the Tiger series during 2007and was caught by the bug ! Michael is a true novice with no previous motorsport experience and having only just gained his racing licence

VX Racing = Paul is the detail man within VXS, fabrication work and cleaning are his forte! His patience is constantly tried by Mac and Daves genetic inability to put equipment away once it is no longer needed. Pauls motto is “more speed” the accelerator pedal of the VXS Avon now has in imprint of Paul right boot embedded in the steel pad!

Paul Clarke
Paul Clarke Car: Avon Class: A

I am 41 years old and have raced since i was 11 years old starting on junior motorcycle grasstrack, I was a professional speedway rider from the age of 16 untill i was 20 racing for Kings lynn , Eastbourne , Boston and Milton Keynes. I then went from 2 wheels to 4 wheels racing a Spedeworth Supastox and later a Brisca F2 stockcar. I bought a Tiger Avon last year and converted it into race spec and managed to get in 3 meetings but 2008 will be my first full season in the series. I am running a 2lt zetec with Newman cams but i am working through the winter on some more mods to get a few more horsepower.

One of the Directors at Tiger Sportscars,started racing scalectrix at a very young age after moving on from trains - been around and worked on Lotus Sevens from a very early age started racing in the Tiger series in 2005 winning the standard class, then in 2006 came third place in the open class, changed to a duractec in 2007 winning the open class.

Steve Griffiths Car: Avon Class: A

2004 - 05 saw Steve sprinting Ginetta’s and racing briefly in the Porsche 924 series, raced many races through out 2007 in the Tiger Race series. The 2008 season looks likely to be the best ever for the Tiger Series and Steve will be campaigning the same Zetec powered Tiger Avon as last year maybe with a few winter modifications.

" Race Saloons with some sucess from 20001 --- 2005 -BARC/BRSCC Southecrn Saloon & Sports Series -Class A in a Ford Zetec powered Tiger kit car. -1st in class, 2nd overall, at inaugral Tiger only race at Mallory Park. -Another class win (& 4th overall) at Lydden. ---2006 Tiger Racing Challenge -Entered 'Open' class in a standard Zetec powered Tiger. -Other commitments meant only a handful of races but 1st in class achieved at Lydden. -2007 Tiger Racing Challenge - Car #91 -started the season by again entering the 'Open' class with a vastly underpowered car for the class. -From July onwards switched to the 'Standard' class & gained class win at first race after switching.
